Welcome to Sonia Sotomayor Elementary School!

The newest school in the largest elementary school district in California, Sonia Sotomayor Elementary School serves a diverse student population and comprises general education classrooms from transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. Our school offers a Spanish Language Dual Immersion program for students, as well as Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe Special Day Classes. In addition, students who qualify for services may participate in a Specialized Academic Instruction program and/or Language, Speech, and Hearing program that supports students via their Individualized Education Plan. As part of the Chula Vista Elementary School District, we believe that each student is an individual of great worth and is entitled to develop to their fullest potential. We believe that education should generate a love of learning for each student to successfully meet the challenges they face in our rapidly changing society.

Our campus boasts modern facilities and grounds, state-of-the-art Learning Commons, Amphitheater, STEAM Studio, and an experienced team of zealous teachers and staff ready to give the students of Sonia Sotomayor meaningful learning experiences.
